Overview:
RECO is an one stop online platform for all those cooking enthusiasts who want to make their lives simpler and focus on the thing that matters most to them, the joy of cooking. RECO was built with an idea of having an assistant by the user’s side at all times for a seamless cooking experience.
From generating grocery list, managing pantry & monthly cooking budgets to curated daily cooking suggestions, weekly planners synced with user’s calendar & sharing those grandma’s recipe with the world(or not), RECO is a sous chef every enthusiast can afford.
Motivation behind doing this project:
I started experimenting with food at a very young age. I remember not being able to understand the ingredients from the english cookbook because that’s not how they were called locally and my inability to read the local script kept me away from all the local cookbooks. I have seen mum getting annoyed because she forgot to check the expiry date and now the item was inedible. “What do we cook today” was an every-meal-stable-question in our household. Google brought a whole host of new cuisines to try but with that came the inacessibility or may I say unawareness of the ingredients’ availibility. When video platforms like Youtube came along, my enthusiasm for cooking new food hardly crossed the saved folder. I saw adults getting concious about their nutrition intake. I also saw my parents worry about their teenage daughter’s food habits. On not finding any app that could cater these needs, I decide to put my imagination to work.
Thus came along, RECO.
Research
Here goes the caption
For better understanding and analysis of the collected data, I catergorised them as- Learnings, Highlights & Turndown(s)
Key Findings:
- There is no space on the internet keeping tab on the user’s kitchen accurately & efficiently.
- There is no application catering the needs of an Indian Market.
- Making a Hyper local application isn’t explored yet.
- All these spaces have good use cases but are task specific, shrinking their target audience. Small enough to leave them application companies broke.
- Most of these spaces are websites. Not one application curating all these functions together.
Target Audience
Primary Target Audience: Urban population in the age group of 25 to 33 & Homemakers.
Secondary audience: Anyone with access to the internet and a smartphone.
